Blogmas Day 18 - Chocolate Waffles

Everybody loves a bit of chocolate are Christmas, right? If you have read my post on the Manchester Christmas Markets, you will know how obsessed I am with the chocolate cover waffles you can get - so much so, I didn't even manage to get a photo of mine! Therefore, it only seemed right that I attempt to make them myself, so read on to see just how easy it was...

Chocolate-Waffle-Recipe

You will need:
4 Sugar waffles - I bought mine but you could always make them yourself
200g chocolate
Chocolate buttons
Baking tray
Greaseproof paper

  • Cover a baking tray with the greaseproof paper - use a little butter to help it stick. Place your waffles onto it, making sure to leave room between each

  • In a heatproof bowl, break up the chocolate and place over a pan of boiling water. Keep stirring until completely melted then remove from the heat.

  • Using a large spoon (or ladle if you have one) completely cover each of the waffles, making sure you get into each of the squares and down every side

  • Place on the chocolate buttons - or anything else you wish to decorate them with, the choice is yours! Put into the fridge and leave for a couple of hours to full set

  • Remove from the fridge 20mins before you want to eat them to get to room temperate then enjoy!

These are so, so simple and quick to make but look so effective and taste amazing - just as good as the ones at the market, if I do say so myself! You can also use any chocolate you want and decorations and even make them personalised to each person, such as I did for my sister by not including the white chocolate as she doesn't like it.

Let me know if you make these!
Love Laura x
