Mary Kay Cosmetics

Who doesn't love finding a new and amazing cosmetics brand?! I know I certainly do and this one is no exception. Mary Kay is an American brand founded in 1963 by Mary Kay Ash who left her job to pursue her dream of helping women to achieve success independently. This has helped Mary Kay to become a global direct seller of cosmetics and skincare products with over 3 million consultants worldwide. I was very kindly sent a few of their cosmetics to try out, along with some skincare which will be in a future post.

Mary Kay Concealer in Ivory *
This is quite a high coverage concealer which makes it perfect for hiding blemishes and any other imperfections. As it is quite a creamy formula, it blends so easily into your skin and this definitely helps it to give the coverage. As it is a squeezy tube, it means you only get out the amount of product you need and I find this makes it easier to use with a sponge, as you can apply the product straight to that rather then your face. As it is dermatology tested, it is perfect for sensitive skin and with this light shade (I got ivory) it is perfect for paler skin tones too.

Mary Kay Runway Bold Nail Lacquer in Rosy Encore *
If you love satin/shimmery nail polishes, than this one if for you! It is a gorgeous rose gold shade that suits every skin tone and really catches the light - you can just imagine this being use for a runway show, as the name suggests. It is so easy to apply and while you do need a couple of coats to really get the colour, it does make your nails feel strong, even after you have taken it off. As it is scratch resistant, it doesn't chip or fade which makes it look very high end.

Limited Edition Mary Kay Pure Dimensions Eye Palette in Maui Gardens *

Isn't this the most gorgeous palette and the design on each of the pans is amazing - almost too pretty to use! Each shade is super pigmented and does have a little shimmer to it. They each blend so easily, so are perfect for layering and creating a smoky eye look, especially with the gorgeous navy shade. They are also long lasting and don't crease, even without using a primer before hand which would also make it perfect for use in a rush or for travelling, especially with the smaller size that the palette is.

The packaging is slightly different for each product but keeps a theme, mainly through the use of black and the same font used through out. I think this also makes it look a lot more expensive than it is, especially the concealer tube which look like it would be a lot more than £7.50! Also, each product comes with a 'manual' inside the box which tells your more about it and also the ingredients within - super helpful if someone is quite particular on what they use. I've found these products amazing to use, mainly because they are so pigmented, so a little goes a long way.

Have your tried anything for Mary Kay before?
Also, a review of some of Mary Kay skincare will be coming soon, so keep an eye on my twitter for when it will be up!
