Glycolic Acid In Skincare | Pixi Beauty

If you have heard of glycolic acid, but have never been sure of it's skincare benefits, then this post is for YOU! This is the one ingredient that should be in everyone's skincare routine as it has so many amazing benefits to your skin and can tackle just about any issue, it really will be your discovery of the year!

So, What Is Glycolic Acid?

Glycolic is a member of the Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) family which are the basic ingredients included in skincare products to removed dead skin cells from the surface of the skin to revel healthy, glowing complexion. It is a naturally occurring substance and it actually comes from plants such as cane sugar and pineapple! Everyday, at home products only contain a low percentage of glycolic acid so they can be used daily without irritation.

Pixi is a brand known for their inclusion of glycolic acid in their products and, if you are a regular reader of my blog then you will know of my love for Pixi too! One of their cult products is the Glow Tonic which has 5% glycolic acid and you use this as a toner - you can also get it in a To-Go pot which included pre-soaked pads of the tonic which are perfect for travel. Since I've been using this, my skin has cleared up and breakouts happen less often. Also, any redness/scaring has reduced and in some places has completely disappeared - no other product has been able to do this! While you can use this morning and night, I usually only use it once a day as this seems to suit my skin the best and I have also found that it helps to keep my skin less oily. They also do a Glow Mud Cleanser which also contains 5% glycolic acid and can be used daily to cleanse skin. This is quite a thick formula and quite clay like but it really does make you face feel so clean and removes any makeup easily.

These Pixi products really do help to revel healthy, glowy skin without them being at all harsh on your face, even when they are being used every day. My skin has actually improved so much since I started sing them, particularly the glow mist! Like with any skincare product, I would recommend doing a patch test to make sure they are compatible with your skin and obviously stop using if any reaction happens. When using any products containing glycolic acid, make sure you apply SPF after, particularly when using in the morning as your skin can become sensitive to sun.

Have you ever tried any of these Pixi products?
Love Laura x
