Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation

Recently I've been having a bit of a foundation drama. I fell out of love with one and was a bit overwhelmed by the choice in pretty much every shop, but I heard a lot of good things about Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation so decided to go for that.

Rimmel-Stay-Matte-Foundation-Light-Porcelain-Review

First, how cute is the tube?! I love the colour scheme used and the placement of the crown makes it look so modern, while still looking classy and fitting in with the brand's 'look'.

It is a mousse formula, which is something I had never tried before and I found you do have to be a little careful when applying it so that you don't get an overload of the product in just on place! Saying this, it is super lightweight, easy to blend into your skin and you forget your wearing it. I have found it stays in place all day without transferring - even without the use of a primer and/or setting powder. The formula stays matte all day without even the slightest hint of shine and I wore this on one of the warm days we have had.

Rimmel did have quite a few different shades to choose from in the Stay Matte Foundation, so most skin types should be able to find one to suit them. I do wish I had got the slighter darker shade, as light porcelain is quite light but not by too much if that makes sense?! Although the tube does look a little on the small side, it does contain the 'regular amount' and I found that a little goes a long way with it, especially if you use a foundation brush and not a sponge. (It seems to soak it up more)

As with anything that is a matte formula, it can be a little drying to the skin. I always make sure my skin is well moisturised anyway and apply a primer beforehand. This not only helps it to be less drying but to look a lot more flawless and natural.

Have you tried this foundation or any other Rimmel do?
Love Laura x

  2. I have this foundation and I think it's great if you want a really full coverage makeup look as the foundation is very thick. Great post:)

  6. Interesting. I'm not big on drugstore stuff touching my face because I'm so sensitive and stick with like three major high end lines but this might be something to look into. :)
