No Milk Smoothie Bowl

The one healthy 'meal' that is constantly floating around on social media are smoothie bowls. Not only are they literally packed with fruit and healthy goodness, they can be totally unique to you and your tastes - that includes not using any type of milk if it is something (like me) that you don't like.

I have never been a fan of milk, or any other type of milk such as soy or coconut etc, so I always thought that smoothie bowl would be out of the question for me. It was purely by chance, and me feeling a little creative, that I came across a way to make one without any type of milk and just using fruit I already knew I liked. It is so easy and quick to make, doesn't need a load of ingredients and is quite filling too! I've also had my Nutribullet Magic Bullet for ages and never really used it, other than for crushing biscuits to make cheesecake!

You will need:

- 100g raspberries
- 100g strawberries plus one extra for decoration
- 100g blackberries
- 100g red currents
- water or fruit juice

- Place all the fruit into the tall cup and attach the cross cutter and blend until the fruit has turned more into a puree

- Add a little of the water or fruit juice and blend. Keep doing this until you have the consistency you want

- Pour out into a bowl and cut a strawberry into rings and place close to one side of the bowl for a little decoration

- Enjoy!

For the fruit, you can either use fresh or frozen depending on what you prefer or how lazy you're feeling! If you use frozen, leave them to warm up to room temperature and don't add too much water/juice, otherwise it will turn more into a slush puppy - fruit style! You can also swap and change what fruit you use depending on what you like or just feel like experimenting with. Also, if you aren't a fan of the pips and things that come off the fruit, you can simply pass it through a sieve to get rid of them.

Are you a fan of smoothie bowls or have you never tried them before of the milk? Let me know if you try this!

  4. I always make milk-less smoothies for my family! We're lactose intolerant, and other types of milk are expensive, so we tried doing it once with water, and never looked back!
