M&S Autograph Matte Lipstick

I'll happily admit that I love lipstick, but one place I've never even thought of looking for make up in general was M&S, or Marks and Spencer to give it's full name. It really surprised me how much they actually sell and it's not only their own named stuff, they sell other brands too such as Stila and Leighton Denny. Of course, I had to try something from their own range and it would have been silly to not get a lipstick right?

After a long while browsing and conferring with my sister, I got the shade 'Natural' from the Matte Velvet Collection. The formula is like nothing I've tried before, as it is a creamy matte meaning that it isn't drying in the slightest on your lips and it does still have a little bit of shine to it - hence the velvet in the name! Once you have applied, you forget you're wearing to as it is so lightweight but it still very pigmented, so gives high coverage without 'bleeding'.

I love the colour, which is pretty similar to the natural colour of your lips but on the more brown side. It is super wearable for all occasions and, as it is a matte formula, doesn't transfer or wear off after eating/drinking too much - even without a lip liner! The packaging is simple and sleek which makes it look like any of the luxury makeup brands and I think this links in with the price. At £10, it is still affordable but not quite drugstore and not quite high-end, even though the quality definitely is and would rival some of the big names.

Have you ever tried any of M&S's own makeup? What did you think of it?
Love Laura x

    1. Thank you and do you think it's boring? I think it looks classy and similar to that of some of the high end brands :)

  6. I actually really like M&S lipsticks and also their nail varnishes. I don't often think about makeup shopping there but they're increasing what they stock all the time so I'm trying to make the effort to have a browse more frequently
