Cosy Club Manchester

Finding new places to eat in Manchester is always high on my to-do list, even more since my best friend/food lover accomplice became vegan. Have you ever realised how hard it is to find somewhere that gives vegan and non-vegan options in the city centre?! It's not easy I can tell you, so I am so glad we decided to try out Cosy Club in Manchester.

Hidden in-between two other restaurants at The Corn Exchange, Cosy Club could be hard to miss if it weren't for the cosy looking chairs and tables outside, which of course link in with the name. After going upstairs (there is also a lift, so great for accessibility) you are welcomed into the bar area which is bright and airy and just feels so welcoming! There is also a restaurant area, but we decided to just sit in the bar, mainly so we could people watch! It honestly doesn't feel anything like a bar area, as it is filled with comfy chairs and sofa, all a bi mis-match but I think this just adds to the atmosphere. The walls are a dark mahogany wood, which could make it very dark if it weren't for the huge dome in the ceiling which is so gorgeous, along with the old style paintings and animal heads the adorn the walls. It does have the feeling of being in a posh, old fashioned manor house! One little touch I love, is there is a box of board games for anyone to play - it means you don't feel as if you have to eat your then leave, you can stay and enjoy yourself.

The menu is full of all tasty meals and there are separate vegan and gluten-free ones so everyone has the chance to find something they can eat. I decided to get the buttermilk pancakes with bacon and maple syrup and I can honestly say, I was not disappointed in my choice one bit! The pancakes we cooked perfectly and as you got 3, they we honestly the right size for me to eat the entire plateful! The bacon was how I love it, you have to snap it and its a bit crunchy but the maple syrup softens it ever so slightly. They also came covered with a dusting of icing sugar which gave a little added sweetness.

The drinks menu is also insane - there is so much to chose from and everything sounds amazing! As well as a huge selections of cocktails - Cherry Bakewell or Treacle Chase anyone? - there is also wines, beers and sprits alongside a large selection of soft drinks. We both choose to have a Cooling Lemonade which was made with lemon juice, sugar syrup, a slice of cucumber and finished with mint, this was the most delicious and refreshing drink I have had in a long time! You could taste every element included and it was also so instagramable in the pint glass.

Cosy Club may look a little eccentric, but it is also so welcoming and both the food and drinks are so, so good. With such a huge menu, with different dietary requirements catered to, this is a place for everyone to go to and enjoy. I honestly can't wait to go back again and work my way through the menu!

Have you ever been to Cosy Club and what did you think of it?

  2. I loooove that kind of drink! Whenever I got to the restaurant Giraffe I have lemonade, and their version is still, served in a mason jar with ice and mint! Great post, and the place looks awesome!

  6. This place looks really good and I'd have gone for the buttermilk pancakes as well- they're my fav! My best friend is actually vegan as well (she went vegan about a year ago) and since then it's definitely been a task to find places that have good vegan and non vegan options that we both like.
