Guide To Buying Designer Sunglasses

With summer now truly on it's way and with all the gorgeous sun we've been having recently, my mind has certainly gone to which sunglasses I want to wear/buy! However, buying sunglasses - especially designer - is a bit of a mind field with so many brands, styles, colours etc you can honestly be spoilt for choice and also slightly confused about which to actually get. There are some things you should take into consideration before taking the plunge and spending the money, so here is my guide to buying designer sunglasses!

Not only should you consider the shape of your face when sunglasses, you should also look at the frame shape and style of the glasses themselves. With so many styles, it can be so hard to know which ones you like and also which will look right when you wear them - too large and they can take over your face or choosing round frames when you have a round face etc. If you aren't sure on your face shape, use this guide.

Look For Sales

I got my DKNY 4142 sunglasses with a small saving of £12 but that's still saving even so! Sign up to your favourite designer sites newsletters to be notified of sales and you can also check out pre owned designer sites where you can get authentic designer items that have maybe only been used once or twice! This is of course alongside using specific sunglasses sites such as Sunglasses Shop, where you can find discounts.

Choosing Your Brand & Budget

The main reason I love buying through Sunglasses Shop is the huge amount of brands they stock so you are quite literally spoilt for choice! As I'm sure you already know, some brands are more pricy then others, so if you have a budget to stick to, filter it down to just that so you don't end up falling in love with something too expensive! However if you have a brand you love you can also filter it down to just those.

Try Before You Buy

I don't know about you, but I buy pretty much everything online and while this is mainly a good thing, sometimes you just need to see or try something in person to see if it looks right and if you actually want it! By buying through Sunglasses Shop, you get an amazing 365 days to return - that's right, a whole year! You can try them out in the comfort of your own home with every outfit you own to see if you truly like them and, as you are spending a decent amount, this is so important.

Practicality Over Fashion?

While some designer or even high street sunglasses may look amazing fashion-wise, they are not always the best for your eyes. The idea of sunglasses is to protect your eyes from harmful UVA and UVB rays not just to be a fashion accessories. When looking for sunglasses you want the highest protection level possible - over 60% for each but many designer brands are now making ones that offer full protection for your eyes.

Question Yourself But Follow Your Gut

When you're buying something designer, you know you're going to spending more than you probably would so it's only human nature that you'll question yourself about it! Along with that, your gut will be telling you something and, in my personal opinion, it's always a good thing to follow and listen to, so while you may be looking about 10+ pairs of sunglasses, your gut will be telling you which ones to go for! When you know, you know!

Last year I bought some Versace ones which I absolutely love but recently I've been looking at a lot of other brands, but my eye was instantly drawn to the DKNY 4142 sunglasses as they have such a classic style. The white rim of the lenses makes them look so classy while still being minimal, meaning they can be worn with just about anything, anywhere! The oval shapes completely covers my eyes and with the UV400 lenses I know they are protected which is the main thing as well as being fashionable.

What are your go to sunglasses and have you ever bought from Sunglasses Shop before?
